Meet Sophia Hudson, a Talent Acquisition Associate in BDN’s Palm Beach Gardens, FL office. Sophia joined the team in July 2023 after receiving a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
As a member of the Talent Acquisition team, Sophia’s dedication shines through as she hires internally through sourcing, prospecting, interviewing, and onboarding. As the point person for potential candidates, Sophia communicates with prospects throughout BDN’s interview process. In January, she delivered 6 offers, a testament to her hard work and commitment. She shared, “This was the most hires I had in a month while at BDN. It was super exciting for me because so much was happening at one time, especially after having a bit of a slower holiday season. Starting the year off this way was very motivating for me and made me excited for the year to come. I plan to keep this momentum up for all of 2024 and see what goals I can accomplish!”
Sophia resides in the Sunshine State and enjoys spontaneous adventures. So much so that she has been skydiving in Zephyrhills, Florida, and is looking forward to skydiving abroad someday.
Her mentor, Ryan Mahan, Black Diamond’s director of Talent Acquisition, has played a significant role in Sophia’s professional journey. She says, “I look up to Ryan because he started out as an intern and now holds the title of director. I have always wanted to be in a leadership role and be a part of a company that promotes from within; I know it is possible if I work hard to prove myself. Ryan has not only inspired me but also pushed me to grow as a TA associate. I hope to one day be in a leadership role and still work closely with him. He is someone who works tirelessly to make things happen and puts his all into his work.”
Sophia encourages new hires to “Be patient and remain coachable. Becoming successful at BDN takes time. It is important to continue learning throughout your career here.”
