Black Diamond Networks Continues Annual Tradition with a Thanksgiving Food Drive for the Lazarus House

Each year, Black Diamond Networks organizes a Thanksgiving Food Drive to support the Lazarus House Ministries located in the neighboring city of Lawrence. The Lazarus House is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through programs that provide food, clothing, housing, and work-preparedness programs to individuals who need it the most.

The holidays can be a tough time for families in need and our employees always jump at an opportunity to alleviate some of that stress for some great (and deserving) people in our community.

The Lazarus House prepares and serves meals to at least 225 people each day in their Good Shepherd Soup Kitchen. Additionally, their food pantry is able to provide groceries to more than 720 families each week.

Since the beginning of November, our employees were able to collect an abundance of canned goods and pool monetary donations together to provide a total of 4,024 non-perishable items to the Lazarus House. Since 2016, BDN has been able to provide over 16,500 canned food items their food pantry.

Although we partner with the Lazarus House through a variety of activities throughout the year, this food drive remains one of our favorite annual events. Let’s see if we can break the 20,000-mark next year!
