Black Diamond Networks Sponsors the 39th Annual Special Field Games

BDN employees partook in annual tradition by volunteering at the Special Field Games in Haverhill, MA on September 23rd, 2019.

Every September, hundreds of locals come together at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill to partake in what we consider to be one of the most inspiring moments of the year.

The Special Field Games is an annual event which welcomes participants of all ages with various disabilities to compete in a series of games including a frisbee toss, 25-meter dash, soccer ball kick, and other friendly competition.

The event, which is in it’s 39th year, strives to include everybody in the winner’s circle by awarding all participants a trophy during the closing ceremony.

Black Diamond Networks, one of the event’s many sponsors, provided support in the form of donating hundreds of custom t-shirts that were proudly donned by the athletes on game day.

The Service Club of Andover, who is the executive sponsor of the event, received additional support from other local organizations including the Massachusetts Knights of Columbus and local Boy Scout troops.

Anthony Federico, Black Diamond’s Junior Marketing Associate, took time to volunteer at the event alongside several of his colleagues.

“Volunteering at this event is so special to my colleagues and I who volunteer each year! I love seeing how the Special Field Games positively impacts each individual participating in the field games. The participants are so happy to be playing in the games and it makes the day very special to see so many smiling faces throughout the event!” – Anthony Federico

Sponsoring and volunteering at the Special Field Games has become one of BDN’s most cherished annual traditions. For now, we will be counting down the days until we get the opportunity to be a part of this inspiring experience once again.
