Is It Really Work if You’re Having This Much Fun?

Our Team Describes the Culture at Black Diamond Networks

At Black Diamond Networks, we believe that our people are our power. Without them, we couldn’t do what we do—fill professional roles in the life sciences, engineering, and information technology sectors. Our people-first approach helps create a corporate culture where people feel like they belong and build on their strengths to grow as team members and individuals. Don’t take our word for it; our team members can speak for themselves! Here’s what they had to say about what it’s like to be part of the BDN community.

You get the support you need to grow.

Our team uses plenty of adjectives to describe the Black Diamond Network’s culture, from “vibrant” to “competitive.” However, one word that shows up in almost every description is “supportive.” Our supportive environment gives our people room to develop their skills and grow—and transfer that growth into new roles. Ryan Mahan started as an intern and grew into his current role as director of talent acquisition. Bret Cerasoli joined the team as a recruiter and served as general manager before taking on the challenge of president and CEO.

You look forward to Monday mornings.

Forget the Monday morning blues! Black Diamond Network’s employees look forward to returning to the office after a weekend respite. “Everyone’s excited to see one another, “ says technical recruiter Zoe Driscoll-Sbar. “It’s a place that makes me excited to come to work.” “Team building” is more than a term used to boost productivity in the office. President and CEO Bret Cerasoli adds, “We really enjoy each other’s company and spend a lot of time team building outside of our normal business hours.” The BDN team members spend time together because they genuinely enjoy each other’s company.

We’re a team in every sense of the word.

At Black Diamond Networks, you’re part of a team whose members encourage and help each other to grow. A team is only as strong as its members, and you’re surrounded by a group of people helping you reach your potential when you work at BDN. Your background isn’t important here; we help you find the right fit and make sure you get the training and support you need to succeed in that role. Senior recruiter Alex Magoon experienced this first as his career path took him from framing houses with his father to working in the BDN office, “talking to people I never thought I would talk to.”

You’re never alone at Black Diamond Networks

New hires get more than a tour of the office and instructions for logging in to the computer system. Black Diamond Networks offers an initial three-month boot camp as well as an advanced training program and materials so that new people, as recruiting training manager Sami Samali says, “have a basic understanding of the job and are able to apply what they learned throughout the training programs when they are up and running.” When they do need help, someone is available to guide them and provide assistance—always with a smile.

“Work hard, play hard” is a way of life.

At Black Diamond Networks, “work hard, play hard” is more than a platitude. It’s the foundation upon which the company is built. Technical recruiter Anthony Pisani compared it to playing on a college sports team, noting that he wanted to work in a fast-paced place with team dynamics like those he experienced as a college athlete. That’s exactly what he found at BDN. Account executive Dario Riparo also cites this dynamic as one of the reasons he chose to work here. “There’s a lot of exceptional people here,” he says. “It makes it faster and more efficient for someone to get started sooner.”

BDN is the place for you if you want to have fun at work.

The Black Diamond Networks office isn’t a stuffy place where people sit in their cubicles watching the clock and mindlessly checking items off a to-do list. It’s a bustling environment where co-workers are friends who share good-natured jokes and plenty of laughter. Even the boss joins in on the fun, smiling broadly and opening his arms as he greets guests and welcomes them into the office. Office culture matters at Black Diamond Networks. We want you to feel at home and capable of exceeding your own expectations.
