Duration: 2+ years (20–30 hrs./week; peak to 40 hrs. as needed)
Start Date: June 2025
JOB SCOPE:
- Client is constructing a new biotech facility and is seeking an experienced Electrical/Controls SME. This SME will oversee the full electrical infrastructure and control system layout for the facility, with a strong emphasis on Building Management Systems (BMS), separation of control vs. monitoring systems, DeltaV integration, and IoT smart facility planning. The ideal candidate has worked in regulated biotech/pharma environments, understands ISO 14644, and has hands-on experience guiding cleanroom and utility control system design. Strong communication skills are critical to translate complex technical requirements across disciplines.
- This is part of a new facility construction project for a biotech/pharma client. The Electrical/Controls SME is needed to guide the design and implementation of BMS (Building Management Systems), electrical infrastructure, and automation systems while ensuring separation from facility monitoring systems. The facility requires full compliance with ISO 14644 standards, as well as integration of IoT and DeltaV platforms.
Notes on Manager/Project:
- 3-building biotech facility (cleanrooms, chemical packaging, warehousing)
- Control electrical work is being split from monitoring systems—SME will be responsible for defining that boundary and helping ensure systems integrate properly while maintaining compliance
- BMS systems require SME-level knowledge (cleanroom control, HVAC integration, alarms, compressed air, utilities)
- DeltaV is a critical system being used; must be able to oversee vendor integration
- IoT: Facility will include smart/connected infrastructure; SME must have working knowledge of how this impacts control/automation layer
- Legacy design influence from ICI standards
- Highly regulated environment (biotech/pharma)
