Meet Black Diamond’s Financial Planning and Analysis manager, Matt Whiting. After working in accounting and finance for 12 years, Matt joined the Andover team in August 2022. As an FP&A Manager, he focuses on financial reporting, forecasting, process improvement, modeling, and analysis. He also directly engages with our sales staff on matters like commissions and collaborates closely with our executives to provide decision-making strategies.
Matt is privileged to work with Tim Shoulders, our Chief Financial Officer, who he admires. Matt stated, “I have been extremely impressed by his leadership qualities. Tim inspires others to embrace the bigger picture.”
If Matt were to pinpoint one core memory from his time at BDN, it would be the past year and a half in its entirety. Matt says, “The events, the energy, and the morale at BDN are incomparable to anywhere else I’ve been in my career thus far.“
Outside finance and numbers, you will often find Matt indulging in one of his greatest passions—fishing. Rain or shine is his go-to activity.
To the newcomers stepping into the dynamic world of BDN, Matt advises, “Do not hesitate to ask questions. Curiosity is the cornerstone of growth, and by seeking to understand the “why” behind our processes and decisions, you will not only deepen your knowledge but also contribute valuable insights to our collective success.”
