Job Description:
Client is looking for a Project Safety Direct Responsible Individual (DRI) to assist with the site project (Facilities) and Process with a heavy Construction / Safety experience from a Pharma or Medical Device background. This person will be very hands on with the construction crew, overseeing facilities, safety programs, attending meetings, permit approvals, etc.
The Safety DRI will:
- Provide project level governance support to Project Directors in support of management reviews, monitoring of assurance activities, developing, and presenting performance metrics, developing and delivering construction safety presentations.
- Proactively engage with Project Directors to forecast programmatic and project level safety risks and work with teams to address emerging risks.
- Assure the client complies with the national statutory health and safety requirements for each construction project.
- Assures the Contractors’ safety performance.
- Where practicable, implement best practice, and lessons learned, across each project.
- Assure that all contractors are implementing our strategy and safe working practices on site.
- Ensures that Contractors are implementing the clients Construction Safety Plan.
- Monitors leading and lagging indicators and escalates.
- Support incident investigations.
- Assist and monitor the development and completion of corrective actions with Contractor.
- Identify and implements safety initiatives.
- Provide technical assistance to project leaders as a construction safety SME.
- Lead project level safety performance reviews.
- Participate in EHS in Design sessions within region.
- Facilitate in region and project level forums with internal and external client partners to enhance safety communications, lessons learned and best practice sharing, and safe delivery.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Safety, Engineering, Computer Science, or related degrees is a MUST.
- Proven experience with construction safety management, integrated risk management, and contractor safety management (minimum of 5 years)
- Knowledge of applicable regional and country health and safety regulations (OSHA, Ministry of Labor, EU, SAWS, ILO, OH&S)
- Supervised projects of a similar nature, scale, and complexity
- Completion of regional supervisor level safety training (i.e. OSHA 30hr, etc.)
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
