Job Description
Our client is seeking a BioProcess Engineer to support their R&D and manufacturing teams. This candidate will provide technical knowledge in the development of fermentation activities including the DOE, SUT Cell culture systems, automation applications to cell culture/ upstream & downstream controls, and data trending. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 4 years working in process analytical technologies and cell culture evaluation and development. Ideally this person will have experience working with Single Use Technologies (SUT) ranging from bench top 1L runs up to 500L. In addition to the technical background, this candidate must be able to analyze the data and present the information to cross functional teams throughout the organization.
Skills Required
- Cell Culture: Participates in evaluations and development of SUT cell culture equipment / processes to support the production and manufacturing of recombinant proteins (including mAbs) under varying levels of direction, including, but not limited to cell culture scaleup, media development, harvest (recovery) process development, process range finding, and statistical analysis of data. Aids in the development of SUT bioreactor process development, and SUT cell culture clarification for new product testing and implementation for the team.
- Process Analytical Technologies: ability to participate in analyzer connectivity evaluations for the data services and digital applications.
Preferred Experience
- Downstream: ability to participate in evaluations and development of PAT for purification equipment / processes to support the production and manufacturing of recombinant proteins (including mAbs) under varying levels of direction, including, but not limited to operation and scale-up of chromatography, depth filtration, tangential flow filtration (ultrafiltration/ diafiltration), and buffer preparation, process range finding, and statistical analysis of data.
- Digital: experienced with PAT software and other digital software including control systems, ELN, EBR, and data historians. Experienced with supporting PAT control system integration and basic computer networking.
Education
- B.S. in Chem Eng, Biochemical Eng, or related field with 4+ yrs, Masters with 2+ yrs, or Ph.D. with 0-2 yrs
