Job Description:
The Research Scientist will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop, optimize, and validate assays for an in vitro diagnostic system. Responsibilities include assay prototyping, reagent preparation, data collection and analysis, execution of feasibility/DOE studies, and supporting equivalency/precision evaluations. The role involves handling blood and chemicals, running tests on TEG instruments, and collaborating to maintain a safe and well-functioning laboratory. Candidates must have 2–3 years of lab experience (wet chemistry, biohazards, blood handling), strong analytical and reporting skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Suite. Preference for candidates with blood hemostasis knowledge and prior IVD industry experience.
Responsibilities:
- Execute test protocols, collect and analyze data, and prepare reports/presentations
- Prepare and mix reagents for testing
- Prototype and build R&D cartridges for feasibility, equivalency, and precision evaluations
- Run tests on TEG instruments (including TEG 5000), including handling whole blood samples
- Collaborate on lab tasks to maintain a safe, stocked, and compliant work environment
- Assist in troubleshooting processes and test failures (not full root cause investigations)
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of lab experience handling chemicals and blood
- Wet chemistry and biohazard experience
- Strong analytical, reporting, and data management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid statistical skills
- Team-oriented and collaborative mindset
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Knowledge of blood hemostasis
- In vitro diagnostics industry experience
- Experience with assay development and validation
