What’s It Like Working at Black Diamond Networks?

Five of Our Employees Share What They Enjoy the Most

We asked our employees what they enjoyed most about their jobs. Here’s what they had to say.

Summer Olsen, Talent Acquisition Specialist

What do you love about your job?

I love that I have the opportunity to meet someone new every day. My job is to listen to people’s stories, learn about their strengths and the areas in their professional work where they excel, and educate them on our company and who we are. Personally, I don’t think it gets much better than that. Furthermore, not only do I get to speak with these people, but I also have the opportunity to hire them into our company where I get to watch them grow and succeed.

How would you explain the culture at BDN?

Black Diamond Networks’ culture is one that welcomes professionals in the beginning to end stages of their career, supports them in achieving their goals, promotes personal and professional growth, and recognizes those that go above and beyond their job description. For this reason, BDN cultivates an energetic and inspiring culture.

What is your favorite part about working for BDN?

My favorite part about working at Black Diamond Networks is the people. As you evolve in your career you quickly learn how important it is to like and respect the people who you work with.

What do you love about your teammates?

My favorite part about the team that I work on is how driven they are. Not only does our team individually want to meet their goals, but together we all work to help and motivate one another to achieve our team’s goals.

Gabriela RolonAccount Executive

I know that sometimes starting a new job you are nervous for the unknown and the people that you have yet to meet. I can tell you that when I started here, I was super nervous because I was working with some of my great friends and I was not sure what kind of atmosphere I was walking into.

After being here for 9 months, close to 10, I had no reason to be nervous and I have not looked back since I started. Being in sales is tough, you deal with negativity and rejection every day and the work environment can be tough as well depending on the leadership.

BDN does a great job at building a positive, team-building environment in which we help each other, and we cheer for each other and pick each other up. A place where you look forward to getting up every morning and coming into work. A place where your hard work is noticed, acknowledge and rewarded. Where you feel motivated to go above and beyond because you know is appreciated.

I am typically not a morning person but here I am happy every morning coming into work because I know I’m going to go see my friends. The team building and quarterly events help create that kind of environment because allows us to share and build rapport with each other.

It is refreshing to work for a company that invests in their employees’ development and training to further their knowledge and capabilities while understanding that talent is their best asset. BDN is a company that understands that an educated and happy employee is a productive employee. It is a company that finds ways to challenge its employees with different things and where philanthropy is important; where giving back is a part of who we are and what we do.

What do you love about your job?

So, what do I love about my job? Everything! The people, the community, the challenges, THE POSITIVITY! It is not perfect, by no means but we thrive on being better than yesterday every day!

How would you explain the culture at BDN?

Challenging (in a better yourself type of way); work hard, play hard; people are everything and family is our drive!

What is your favorite perk about working for BDN?

The fact that they create an environment where we are encouraged to get to know each other and build our team with the quarterly events.

What do you love about your teammates?

Overall positive environment and encouragement. We know if someone is struggling, we come together to pick that person up and help them through, because if one of us suffers, we all do…

Sarah Williams, National Recruiter – Life Sciences & Technology

What do you love about your job?

I personally love the hustle. I’m a hard worker and I love sourcing and finding the right candidates for positions. I also love how much they really care about their employees at this company. Within the first week working here all the high ups made a point to come to my desk and introduce themselves to me. The work/life balance here is also amazing. I am so honored to be a part of such an amazing company!

How would you explain the culture at BDN?

Very laid back but at the same time a strong hustle. I feel like we are all a big family, and it makes it that much easier to come to work every day.

What is your favorite perk about working for BDN?

Fun work events and paid holidays!!

What do you love about your teammates?

Since day one everyone welcomed me with open arms. I was so nervous being the new girl. Everyone’s personalities are so different, and I have never ever had any bad interactions with any of my teammates. Everyone is so helpful!

Kasey Mortimer, Technical Recruiter – River Group Technologies

What do you love about your job?

I am part of a great team with a leader whom in I truly believe wants us all to succeed together. Additionally, this is a meritocracy and you get what you put into it!

How would you explain the culture at BDN?

We are a group of motivated professionals who work hard to optimize our time and gain financial independence. While we have a competitive, sales environment, many of us are happy to assist colleagues, especially those who are new to the business.

What is your favorite perk about working for BDN?

We have a great team, office, and company-wide quarterly events where we participate in fun activities while engaging each other on more personal levels.

What do you love about your teammates?

There is a healthy dose of inter-team competition, but we truly act as a collaborative unit working toward winning together. For River Group specifically, I believe we all genuinely respect and like each other as colleagues and humans.

Overall, as far as sales environments go, BDN/RGT/AP Bio cultivates one which tangibly rewards success and fosters healthy competition. There are metrics to achieve and/or surpass, but if you are performing well there is also flexibility in how you allocate your time during the workday.

John Crowe, Account Executive

What do you love about your job?

I love a lot about my job. The hours give me more than enough time to spend with my family and I can always work wherever I am if needed because the majority of my job can be done from my phone.

How would you explain the culture at BDN?

The culture is ideal, laid back but hard working at the same time, everyone is friendly while also being in constant competition with each other.  You also have the ability to dictate your destiny here.  The tools are here for you to utilize and as long as you are motivated to make money you have all the opportunity in the world.

What is your favorite perk about working for BDN?

My favorite perk about working for BDN is that I can always be working 24/7 whether it’s through emails, texts, calls, or all of the above. It is good to have the ability to put in extra hours when things don’t go the way you would like (and obviously the money is great too!)

What do you love about your teammates?

My teammates are great because although we are very different, we all have the same goals as soon as we step in the door. We want to be successful and make money, and the most efficient way to do that is to work together. I always highly recommend BDN as a career move.
