Last Friday, Black Diamond Networks’ employees across our four offices joined together to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of our founding. In the late 1990s, our two owners, Mike and Greg, were introduced to one another through a mutual friend and the idea for BDN was born. Realizing a need for Boston-area contract and direct-hire IT staffing solutions, Mike and Greg started BDN in February of 1999. Since then, our focus has revolved around connecting clients and contractors, providing them both with the resources they need to thrive.
During our first five years, BDN grew steadily as a result of the relationships we forged with our clients and contractors. In 2005, we saw another underserved market for contract engineering services and our engineering services group was born. This would quickly become our largest division, growing despite the challenging economic headwinds of the 2008 housing market collapse.
On the heels of the recession, we launched our newest division, serving companies in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. Today, we’ve grown the division to provide regulatory affairs, clinical, quality, and validation professionals to companies throughout the United States.
In 2014, at a senior management summit, we realized that everyone in the room was personally connected to someone else attending. That “network” not only speaks to the internal culture here at BDN, but also serves as the core foundation of our company; we’re the experts in technical staffing. Building one relationship at a time. Fast forward to today, and we have four offices and more than 100 employees and counting. Happy birthday BDN! The first 20 years were great, and we can’t wait to see what the next 20 years hold.
