Job Description:
The Mechanical SME will support the concept and detailed design of a new biotech facility in Singapore. Acting as a liaison between design contractors and the internal team, this person will ensure compliance with Singaporean and client clean room standards (including ISO 14644, grades ABCD, compressed air, and sustainability requirements). No hands-on design work is expected, but the SME will be responsible for quality control, reviewing outsourced designs, addressing cleanroom and HVAC layout concerns, and communicating changes clearly. Experience in pharma/biotech facilities, packing chemicals, and cleanroom sustainability/handling biologics is essential. Must understand nuances of biotech operations and legacy ICI design standards.
- High complexity and regulation (biotech/pharma cleanrooms)
- Coordination with outsourced design teams
- Must ensure ISO 14644 and compressed air/ABCD-grade compliance
- Legacy standards from ICI still influence design baseline
- Strong preference for those familiar with best practice ISP baselines and experience in highly regulated environments
- Project covers 3 buildings, including warehousing
