Job Description:
Our client has been looking for an FTE for 6 months.
Responsibilities will include (not limited to):
- Perform the design, installation, and commissioning of site equipment and associated control systems
- Develop and optimize operation and maintenance procedures for automation and control systems
- Troubleshoot and correct problems with automation and control systems
- Configure, edit, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems
- Provide proactive technical support for existing automation and control systems by reviewing existing maintenance data to identify and address system weaknesses
- Develop training programs for automation and control systems for site technicians
- Develop, author, execute, and approve automation and control system protocols for equipment validation (DQ/FAT/IOQ/PQ)
- Provide engineering support to commercial production by partnering with operations to implement engineering solutions to existing issues
- Lead and participate in deviation investigation teams by utilizing RCA tools and developing CAPAs for permanent issue resolution
Skills:
- Bachelor’s of Science degree
- 5+ years of experience in automation and controls in a manufacturing environment
- Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
- Prior experience in a GMP regulated industry including experience with relevant regulatory requirements (21 CFR Part 11)
- Prior experience with design, programming, startup, troubleshooting, and validation of automation and controls on manufacturing equipment or systems
- Working knowledge and prior application development using PLC programming (Rockwell RSLogix 5000, Siemens S7 & S5), SCADA, HMI configuration (Rockwell factory talk) is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with secondary pharmaceutical unit operations including bulk mixers/homogenizers, powder conveyance systems, bulk liquid dosing systems, and filling/packaging systems
