Job Description:
Client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is heavily suited towards the product development space. Understanding design, understanding a good drawing from a bad one, investigating why a product in the market has failed and implementing a solution. Manager will ask candidates to describe a project you have worked on in the past and have them define a technical challenge they had and how they solved it. Most people talk about the products rather than answering the question. Also will ask how you build a process to prove it will work. Looking for a candidate to understand and prove the science behind why it will work rather than just perform verification testing. Rather than just verifying over and over again until it works. Looking for candidates who can engineer the science behind fixing the problem so that when they get to the point of testing it that they have a good indication it will work. This is a remediation effort where they have defects of product in the field and this person will be responsible for investigating that problem and engineering the solution: Look at the current design, look at the current documentation supporting the current design, then think about the physics of original intent, look at feasibility testing, talk to vendors if you need to, get prototypes, make a hypothesis, etc. etc. to efficiently develop a FIX to the product performance and engineer the solution. SolidWorks experience is a MUST.. This is hardcore design work, not DHF remediation. This is Engineering and Product Development. Mechanical Engineering Degree is a MUST.
Skills:
Product Development Engineer, Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Medical Device, Hands-on Engineer.
Education:
B.S. ME is a MUST.
