A BDN client is looking for a Microbiologist with experience working with Mycobacteria (specifically MAP) to coordinate the activities of various academic research labs, develop constructive strategies and perfect techniques to develop assays, non-clinical models and in-vitro testing to support a diagnostic development program. The consultant must have knowledge of qPCR and Microbiologic techniques, including next-generation sequencing and in-vitro sensitivity testing (checkerboard analysis) and have industry experience associated with a program leading to the approval of a diagnostic. The client is looking for candidates who can work integrally with a highly motivated team, has leadership skills, presentation skills, and can work independently but also as part of a development team. Experience in Mycobacterial sp. Infections, particularly Mycobacterium avium complex and/or Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis is desired. Experience with combination drugs in the treatment of infectious agents is preferred for this position.
