A BDN client is looking for a Machine Design Engineer in E&P who will lead and support machine design scope on small and large projects. These projects are comprised of technically challenging and unique mechanisms design efforts, such as a Flexible Nozzle for an Automotive Wind Tunnel, a Model Positioning System for Supersonic or Hypersonic Wind Tunnels, or a moveable platform for a Rocket Engine Test Stand, as well as various other machines employing common mechanisms and devices deployed in difficult thermal and acoustic environments. The consultant will work on projects that are often complex and multi-discipline, and Senior Engineers in E&P have ownership of the technical, schedule, and budget performance of the work assigned to them, and are expected to operate with general instructions in an independent mode. He/she will independently plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work through the selection and adaptation or modification of techniques, procedures, and criteria. The client is looking for an individual who has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineering school. They would also like to see candidates with a minimum of fifteen years of relevant and progressive Machine Design experience. Preferred qualifications include 3D CAD experience (Inventor or Solidworks preferred) for this role.
