Duration:

  • 6 Months

Job Description:

  • Execute high-throughput (HTP) analytics of proteins or protein substances to determine characteristics, as purity, homogeneity, size, glycosylation types, charged variant content, post-translational modification (PTM) content, viscosity, subvisible-particle level and soluble aggregation content, by both coordinating and performing a wide range of analyses, including, and not limited to, separation-based methodologies such as chromatography (affinity, RP, HIC, IEX and SE via FPLC, HPLC, UHPLC, UPLC, nanoUPLC) and electrophoresis (r/nrCE-SDS, cIEF, SDS-PAGE, native PAGE), sizing (SEC-MALS, DLS), viscometry and particle analyses (HIAC, MFI) with little or no supervision
  • Perform new methodologies for inducing PTMs of interest, or for enriching variant species with pre-existing PTMs of interest, for downstream characterizations
  • Conduct longer-term developability, formulation screening as well as stability of protein molecules of interest using wide analytical techniques for assessment
  • Contribute to developing new methods to expand on the analytical workflows in-house
  • Contribute to analysis and communication of analytical data for projects
  • Contribute to drafting internal operational protocols and external publications
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to communicate data and help drive projects forward
  • Cross-train colleagues within or outside the group as a subject matter expert

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • BSc with 2+ years, or MSc with 0+ years experience, background in protein chemistry/biochemistry/biophysics is strongly preferred.
  • Training or practical experience in:
  • Protein analytics via chromatography (affinity, RP, HIC, IEX and SE via FPLC, HPLC, UHPLC, UPLC, nanoUPLC), electrophoresis (r/nrCE-SDS, cIEF, SDS-PAGE, native PAGE), sizing (SEC-MALS, DLS), viscometry and particle analyses (HIAC, MFI)
  • Preparative- or semipreparative-scale chromatography-based protein purification or molecular variant enrichment methods
  • Protein therapeutics developability assessments
  • HTP plate-based assays (eg: ELISA)
  • Experience in mass spec and protein chemistry is a plus
