Job Description:
Client is looking for someone who has been a CapEx Project Director in a greenfield or brownfield multimillion-dollar facility expansion (is crucial).
The Project Director shall manage the design, construction, commissioning and qualification of a new biopharmaceutical drug product manufacturing site in the USA. As the owner’s representative on the project, the Project Director shall lead a team of engineering consultants, construction managers and SMEs to ensure the quality and timely completion of the project within budget.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the Client Project Management Delivery Team
Ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the required quality.
Responsible for all aspects of project delivery including design, construction, equipment procurement, project budget and cost management, schedule management and risk management.
Ensure project safety and environmental compliance.
Obtain all necessary permits and regulatory approvals for site construction and commissioning.
Select and manage key external parties for the project (including engineering consultants, equipment vendors and contractors).
Coordinate with the Operational Readiness leader to provide a seamless delivery of the manufacturing capacity.
Manage expectations and deliverables of all parties involved (internal and external).
Work closely with local government and regulatory bodies to obtain all necessary permits and ensure smooth project delivery.
Ensure smooth project closeout and turnover of the site from the Construction Manager to GMS Operations.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all turnover packages.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The Project Director will interact with internal and external project team members, and with GMS Leadership. The successful candidate will also need to work closely with engineering consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth handover and operation of the new site. Collaboration and partnership are essential to succeed in this role.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Over 10 years of experience delivering Capital Projects for Large Scale Biologics & Vaccine Manufacturing Facilities.
Extensive experience managing all project stages from project concept design, basis of design, detail design, construction through commissioning/qualification to final handover to end-user.
Experience managing drug product projects including packaging, filling, lyophilization, materials management.
Bachelor of Science in engineering, MBA or equivalent.
