Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Head of Formulation for a 12+ month contract. The client primarily works with amino acids that they put into various combinations in order to treat metabolic disease. These are all oral solid dosage products that are a dry powder in a sachet. Currently, the daily doses are in a gram quality where they may be giving up to 70 grams of a drug product to patients on a daily basis. This is a ready-to-mix product that you mix with water to create a liquid suspension. Ideally they could move this into a ready to drink product in the future. Daily tasks will consist of working with the early development team, providing strategy on how to go about doing formulations, design of experiments, review of data, etc. This resource will be responsible for formulation strategy, development and optimization, as well as oversee strategic vendor selection and drive operational/technical activities.
Required Experience:
- Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in related field
- Oral small molecule pharmaceuticals
- Formulation experience
- Any organoleptic experience or liquid suspension experience would be a plus.
