Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer with an engineering background with programming expertise (Python, C++, Java, etc.), lab automation systems, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and liquid handler instruments. The selected resource will be providing ongoing support of design and implementation of automated methods to lab workflows, including running & automating assays and protocols.
Functions will also consist of (but not limited to):
Workflow integration: Spectroscopes, UV-Vis, HPLC’s, and other related instrument to support scalability.
Author and develop SOP’s and provide guidance as needed to bench scientists and lab personnel
Lead design, implementation, and troubleshooting of workflows (new & existing) as each transition from bench-top localized instruments to instruments connected to the network, both independently and collaboratively with key members.
Automation of assays utilizing liquid handling, plate readers and automated software platforms.
Running and automation of workflows and methods
Required skills:
At least 5+ years’ of experience as an Automation Engineer in FDA-regulated industry
Proficiency in using, programming, and troubleshooting lab instruments.
Working experience in authoring & validating lab SOP’s & supporting documentation
Thorough understanding of related programming languages (Python, Java, C++, etc.)
